Install
Every plugin in the suite is free to install. Once a plugin is live on the Figma Community, install it from its Community page with one click. The steps below are for loading a plugin from its source folder, which needs the Figma desktop app.
Steps
- Open the Figma desktop app (macOS or Windows).
- Open any design file.
- In the menu, choose Plugins → Development → Import plugin from manifest…
- Select the
manifest.jsoninside the plugin's folder, for examplepixel-squeeze/manifest.json. - Run it any time from Plugins → Development.
Repeat for each plugin you want. There is no build step and there are no dependencies: each plugin is a manifest, a code.js, and a ui.html.
After editing a plugin's files, just run it again. Figma re-reads the files on every launch, so there is nothing to rebuild or reload.
Updating
Community installs update automatically. For a source-folder install, replace the folder with the new version; Figma reads the files at launch, so the next run is the new version. Saved presets and an activated Pro license live in Figma's client storage and survive updates.
