Print Ready
CMYK, bleed, crop marks, and press-ready PDFs without leaving Figma. Free to install; Pro is $9.99/month.
Figma is an RGB screen tool; print shops want CMYK files with bleed, trim boxes, and enough resolution. Print Ready adds all of it as six tabs in one plugin window.
Free vs Pro
- Name
Free, forever- Type
- no account needed
- Description
Print-size templates with bleed and safe guides, the stamp and rescale fix-up tools, crop-mark sheets, the DPI checker, CMYK values and soft proof, PNG/JPG and vector RGB PDF export, and the PDF preview.
- Name
Pro- Type
- $9.99/month
- Description
Exporting from the PDF tab (multi-page CMYK PDF/X-1a, vector crop marks, dielines, imposition), CMYK TIFF export, and the image upscaler.
The split follows the workflow: everything you need to design and check for print is free; the files you hand to a press are Pro. Buy from the plugin's Get Pro tab, paste the license key that arrives by email, and the locked features unlock on up to 3 devices. See Pricing for how subscriptions, devices and cancelling work.
What it does
- Frames at true physical size. Presets from business cards to A0, in mm, cm, or inches, with bleed and safe-area guides baked in.
- CMYK PDF export. Multi-page PDF/X-1a with DeviceCMYK pages, trim and bleed boxes, and ten declared output profiles.
- Vector crop marks and dielines. Registration-color marks, plus named CutContour spot plates for stickers and packaging.
- Booklet imposition. Saddle-stitch sheet order with inner bleed cropped, ready to print double-sided and fold.
- DPI checking and soft proof. Effective PPI per image, and an ink simulation that shows how vivid RGB dulls on press.
- CMYK TIFF and tagged raster. True Separated TIFF, plus PNG and JPG that carry real DPI metadata.
How to use it
- Set up. Create a frame from the Setup tab: preset, bleed (3 mm default), safe margin. The frame edge is the bleed edge; the blue line is the cut.
- Check and proof. Run the DPI tab against 300 PPI and review the CMYK soft proof before committing to a run.
- Export. Select frames in the PDF tab, pick your printer region's preset, preview page 1, export, send as-is.

FAQ
Why PDF/X-1a and not X-4?
X-4 requires embedding a real ICC profile binary, which needs a server pipeline. X-1a legitimately declares a registered printing condition by name and is the most widely accepted standard.
Is text vector in the PDF?
No. Pages are flattened raster by design, which is why there are never font, transparency, or blend-mode surprises at the shop. Use 600 DPI for small text.
Print Ready ships a complete standalone manual at print-ready-doc.netlify.app with guides for every tab, use cases from business cards to booklets, and reference tables.
