PixelSqueeze troubleshooting

Check the status bar at the bottom of the plugin first; every failure writes its reason there.

"Batches of more than 10 layers needs Pro"

The free tier exports up to 10 layers per run. Export in two batches, or activate Pro for unlimited batches.

"Layer X would be N px wide, which exceeds Figma's 16,384 px limit"

Figma cannot render an image larger than 16,384 pixels on a side. Reduce the scale, use Target width, or export that layer separately at 1x.

A file is the same size or larger than the original

PNG-8 only helps images with few colors. When the quantized file would be larger, the plugin keeps the original bytes and shows 0 percent, so you never lose quality for nothing. For photographs use JPEG or WebP. For JPEG and WebP, a quality above 90 can also exceed Figma's PNG on simple graphics; lower it.

Transparency disappeared

JPEG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. Use WebP or PNG for images that need alpha. PNG-8 keeps transparency through its palette.

Two files have _1 and _2 in their names

Two selected layers share the same name. The suffix keeps both files in the ZIP instead of one overwriting the other. Rename the layers if you need specific file names.

Nothing downloaded

The file or ZIP goes to the browser's or the Figma desktop app's downloads folder. If the status bar says the export finished and nothing arrived, your browser blocked an automatic download; allow downloads for figma.com and export again. A single file downloads under its own name, not as a ZIP.

The export is slow

Rendering happens in Figma and compression happens on your machine, so a batch of 3x exports of large frames takes a moment. The status line counts progress. PNG-8 with dithering on very large images is the slowest path.

Does it work in FigJam?

Yes. Select stickies, shapes or sections and export them the same way.

The plugin says it cannot reach the license server

That only affects Pro activation and validation; every free feature keeps working. See Pro and licensing.
